Our project brief was to design a breakthrough in-car experience that could be incorporated into new generations of Mercedes-Benz cars within the next 10 years. It was an exceptional project as we were able to work with Mercedes-Benz’s UX Lead and Senior Product Designer and iterate through the design process.
Value proposition for Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes that is parked at home after a long day of driving represents a temporary break from the stresses and 'demands of the road'.
'home office migrated on wheels' - affluent directors and managers with a lot of freedom and flexibility
surfaces of differing heights are to encourage alternation between physically and virtually to promote concentration and creativity and thus increase efficiency
you can make it sure for everyone, that you are still a Mercedes owner while the car is standing in a parking/charging slot
‘Not just stop people from doing bad stuff behind the wheel but help them to be actively good!’
User journey - finding our research objective
Understanding the different levels of driving automation
VR/AR/MR roles in automotive industry
Evolution of Mercedes-Benz
Car roles in our society
Cars are seen as mini power stations on wheels
AirFlow in Car Vision Concept for the Augmented Experience
The future of vehicle design is about tackling challenges such as improving interiors and user experience, especially for luxury brands. Beyond digital skills, research, creativity and teamwork are essential for a successful project. As part of our 20-year partnership with Mercedes-Benz, we have launched a 12-week interactive design course led by guest experts David Wilfinger, Head of Digital Product Design, and Zane Amiralis, Advanced UX Director, focusing on these future design issues.
